Teacher Educator | Applied Linguist | Founder & Director of Applied Language Studies House (ALSH)

Short Academic Bio

Dr Paschalis Chliaras, FHEA, is an applied linguist, senior teacher educator, and academic leader specialising in English Language Teaching (ELT), English for Academic Purposes (EAP), English for Specific Purposes (ESP), and language teacher education. He holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

He is the Founder and Director of Applied Language Studies House (ALSH), a Trinity College London Validated Centre and IELTS Recognising Organisation, where he has trained and supervised hundreds of English language teachers through international teacher education programmes, including Cambridge DELTA, Trinity DipTESOL and Trinity CertTESOL.

Dr Chliaras has collaborated with UK universities, including the University of Birmingham and the University of Warwick, as an EAP tutor and academic contributor. His research interests include second language acquisition, multilingual education, teacher education, curriculum design, assessment literacy and technology-enhanced language learning.

He is also the founder of the Language Education and Research Conference (LERC) and the Journal of Applied Languages and Linguistics (J-ALL). His work focuses on bridging linguistic theory and classroom practice through research-informed approaches to language education.
