Conference Description

The 7th International Conference on Language Education and Research (LERC2026) is a fully online, global gathering dedicated to advancing the study and practice of language acquisition and linguistics. Under the theme “Language Acquisition at the Interface of Linguistic Theory and Practice”, the conference aims to bridge theoretical insights with practical applications in language learning, teaching, and research.

The subtheme, “Linguistics and Language Learning in a Changing World”, highlights the evolving contexts in which languages are learned and taught, including multilingual environments, online learning platforms, and rapidly changing sociocultural landscapes. LERC2026 invites contributions that illuminate how advances in linguistics, second language acquisition, psycholinguistics, and applied research can inform educational practices and language policy worldwide.

Key Discussions and Topics Include:

  • Theoretical Foundations of Language Acquisition: Insights from syntax, phonology, morphology, and semantics that inform second and additional language learning

  • Cognitive and Psycholinguistic Perspectives: How memory, processing, and perception shape language learning across ages and contexts

  • Sociolinguistic and Multilingual Approaches: Language acquisition in multilingual settings, cross-cultural communication, and identity formation

  • Applied Linguistics in Education: Evidence-based methods, curriculum design, and pedagogical interventions for diverse learners

  • Digital and Online Learning Environments: Innovative tools, technology-mediated instruction, and remote learning research

  • Corpus, Experimental, and Longitudinal Research: Empirical studies contributing to theory-practice integration

  • Language Policy, Assessment, and Teacher Development: The role of linguistic research in shaping assessment strategies, teacher training, and professional development

LERC2026 provides a dynamic platform for scholars, educators, and practitioners worldwide to share research findings, exchange ideas, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration. Through keynote presentations, paper sessions, workshops, and panel discussions, participants will explore how linguistic theory and empirical research can directly enhance the practice of language education in today’s rapidly changing world.
