Abstract
Mastering AI in Language Teaching: Pedagogy, Practice and Professional Development in the Age of Artificial Intelligence examines the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence in English language education and considers how teachers can engage with AI critically, ethically and pedagogically. Rather than presenting AI simply as a collection of digital tools, the book places pedagogy, teacher expertise and professional judgement at the centre of technology-enhanced language teaching.
Combining theoretical perspectives with practical applications, the book explores key areas including AI literacy, teacher–AI–learner relationships, prompting and classroom interaction, AI-supported lesson planning and materials development, feedback and writing instruction, assessment and academic integrity, and teacher professional development. It also addresses wider ethical and institutional questions surrounding responsible AI use, including the changing roles and responsibilities of teachers in increasingly AI-mediated educational environments.
